The Leon School of Beauty Culture was founded in 1940 by Mrs Rose Leon and her husband Arthur. The school staged their first graduation exercises of eight (8) students at the then prestigious Bournemouth Club in September 1940. Since that time the annual graduation exercises of the Leon School of Beauty Culture is an eagerly awaited social event.
Leon’s has had the pleasure of training students from all parts of the world including Holland, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, Panama, Haiti and the Eastern Caribbean. The school has outgrown several premises. We were first located in rented premises at 64 Barry Street in the parish of Kingston (1940-1943) then we acquired land at 63 Barry Street, and constructed a moderate size two storey building.
The school continued to progress and so we acquired an old two storey building at 38 Hanover Street (formerly Harding’s Printery) which we completely renovated and added another floor which gave us ample space.
We were contracted by Leon’s School of Beauty to not only redesign their website and bring it up to current standards while providing hosting service for their new website as well. The overall aim was to bring their website up to current standards which we did. In the end we have created whole new user expierence for the end user.
